About Us

Doing Things Different

We approach this industry from a unique perspective.

For Actors:

Starting out as actors in NYC and LA, we understand and sympathize with our talent. Which is why we encourage our actors to grow and make concerted efforts to keep our eyes open to that growth. By attending performances at local theaters, visiting classes in town and inspiring our talent to come in and perform monologues from time to time, we create an awareness of ability and range.

We also open doors for our talent not only in Colorado, but on a national level. Through our connections in other professional markets such as NM, NYC & LA we have had many success stories develop from our talent pool. In addition to sending our actors out, we also bring producers, directors, and casting directors in. Our actors have had the opportunity to work with industry pros like Kathryn Brink, Jo Edna Boldin, Pat McCorkle, Joe Cacaci, Jay Thomas, Dan Lauria, Wendy Malick, Rob Moran, Zen Gessner, Judith Joyce, Jean Scoccimarro and many more.

For Producers:

As producers, writers and directors ourselves, we know the constrains of time and budget as well as the desire to produce top notch works. We ensure our talent are prepared, professional, on time and ready to work. Our reputation remains solid as a fair and honest agency. With over 20 years in business, you can be assured we will be here to meet your needs and provide the best service and talent in town for all mediums; print, on-camera, theatre, voice over and spokespeople.

For the Future:

With the original goal in mind of creating a “Studio Without Walls” in Denver, Big Fish is moving on towards the next phase of development, the packaging of talent with professional theatre, film and television productions. Stay tuned!

Shauna Ballinger - On Camera Division

Shauna Ballinger began her career as a triple threat performer and developed into a classically trained actress at The College of Santa Fe. Shortly after her four-year stint, she moved to the Big Apple and became a core member of the New York Performance Alliance. There she played some of her favorite roles – Ismene in Antigone, Emilia in Othello, Stella in Streetcar and May in Fool for Love. She was also privileged enough to open an original Joyce Carol-Oates play Off-Broadway and work with Obie Award winning director Ernest Abuba on a production of King Lear.

It was through The Friar’s Club New York she began cutting her teeth on the other side of the desk, learning all about representation from legends like Jackie Green, Don Buchwold & Marty Fischer. Marty was the first to put her to work as the Talent Coordinator for GoldStar Entertainment NY. Within a month she increased the roster by half and booked the most actors on a single job in the agency’s history. It was through Jackie she learned the art of handling talent the likes of Barbara Streisand and Tom Jones. Don taught her how to be taken seriously and still maintain a sense of humor.

In 2005, Shauna moved to Colorado to get married and start a new life in the West. Upon moving to Denver she quickly became the Talent Coordinator for Big Fish Talent and brought about several new changes to the already reputable and respected agency. She was a key component in opening doors in NM, bringing the Breakdown Services to CO and developing a new, user friendly website for Big Fish. She has also brought in some wonderful new faces and increased the visibility of several familiar faces on our roster.

Shauna continues to act in theatre and film productions, most recently seen in Bubs and soon to be seen in Ink, and has extended her reach in the community working as Production Coordinator for the feature film, Handful of Beans. She looks very forward to exciting things to come and a very bright future for Big Fish Talent.
